Wear Now, Wear Later: white trousers

Wear Now Wear Later: white trousers
You know those easy, breezy trousers you reach for during the hot Summer months? Well you can take them from Summer to Fall with the right styling. For Summer, keep them light with a silky blouse and simple accessories. As Fall approaches, ditch the blouse in favor of a lightweight knit and a statement necklace. Add a red lip and rich cognac sandals to warm it up for the changing season.
Wear Now: Joseph pants, Balmain tank, Prada sandals, Kate Spade bangles, Topshop belt, Essie nail polish
Wear Later: Joseph pants, Helmut Lang sweater, Michael Kors sandals, Lulu Frost necklace, Saint Laurent clutch, Giorgio Armani lipstick

Currently Craving: Spring Fever

The temps rose dramatically in NYC the past couple of days… a brief tantalizing whiff of Spring, before January remembers her place on the Northeast climate spectrum. Tempted by the weather (or so I’m justifying it to myself), I added a couple Springtime pieces to my closet that I’m so eager to wear! Here are some newbies, plus some coveted items for Spring and where to get them:

Spring Fever, Polyvore, Currently Craving

1. Something floral, See by Chloe (similar) 2. White Trousers, Balmain, 3. Statement Necklace, BaubleBar (similar), 4. Bright scarf, Banana Republic, 5. Ice Blue Crop, Tibi, 6. Something mint, Steve Madden, 7. Pleated skirt, Steffen Schraut

Wish List: Long Sleeve Dresses

My office is freezing. I mean knit hat, thick socks, fisherman sweater, thermal pants, and scarf kind of freezing. I don’t want to give up my dresses for work, so I have been hunting for long-sleeve guys (that I can then layer the aforementioned pieces over… I kid). Here are some of my favorites, almost none of which I can afford… Enjoy 🙂

Wish List: Long Sleeve Dresses
Starting at the top… The darling and affordable H&M sheath dress, followed by the very unaffordable Balmain black blazer dress, Daniela Gregis shift dress, 10 Crosby Derek Lam printed plaid dress, Preen black and white dress, Balenciaga long sleeve shift dress, Moschino Cheap and Chic patchwork dress, Tory Burch Kathy dress, Diane von Furstenberg printed dress, Michael Kors tweed herringbone dress.
I should note – DVF and Michael Kors have a lot of great options that are not outrageously priced (ahem Balmain). Which is your favorite??

Style Inspiration: Jean skirts are back?

Vogue Spain, via fashiongonerogue.com

This gives me flashbacks to elementary school: I was that petite blonde (wow, I need a second to form that mental image too) attempting to keep up with the boys in my jean skirt. Because obviously the best way to get a guy’s attention is to challenge them to kickball, while showing off your legs in a skirt… Here are a couple of “grown up” ways to wear the new jean skirt:

The jury is still out for me. What do you think – will you be flaunting your legs this Spring in a denim skirt?
