I’m baaaaaaaack! Forgive me for getting lazy going into hibernation… It was a tough Winter in Boston so here’s to Spring finally starting to arrive. Well, aside from the snow this morning but let’s just pretend that didn’t happen… Let’s kick off with some florals!

Whatever the weather (umm hello, 90 degrees), my mind is on Fall fashion! Runway looks usually feel so unattainable to me, like works of art that I love looking at but could never recreate. So I wanted to try a new series where I take inspiration from the runway and make it accessible for real life (because lets face it, we aren’t all models or street-style stars)… This 3.1 Phillip Lim look from Fall 2013 isn’t too over the top so it’s a great place to start. For the work look, I balanced the bold pant with a classic white blouse and a dark knit. On the weekend, I swapped the blouse for a chambray and added ankle booties to keep it effortlessly chic. Cold Shoulder
Got this great one-shoulder dress at Marshall’s a few years ago, and I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it. In the Fall, I will top it off with an oversized sweater or my denim jacket and booties. But for now, sexy sandals and a statement necklace are the perfect accents for a night out with my manfriend.

Wear Now, Wear Later: white trousers
You know those easy, breezy trousers you reach for during the hot Summer months? Well you can take them from Summer to Fall with the right styling. For Summer, keep them light with a silky blouse and simple accessories. As Fall approaches, ditch the blouse in favor of a lightweight knit and a statement necklace. Add a red lip and rich cognac sandals to warm it up for the changing season.

Black and Bone
I never tire of Black + White (or some shade of white), and one of my favorite ways to accessorize this color palette is with rich cognac accents, like this belt. Leopard wedges pull it all together for a polished, but laid-back late Summertime look.

On the Water
A couple weeks ago, the manfriend and I went to Gloucester for the weekend. The weather was gorgeous and our spot on the water was incredible. After a casual brunch, we took these pics on the roof so we could take in the whole view!

This look was inspired by one of my favorite movies, Dirty Dancing – specifically this scene. I love Baby’s laid-back take on preppy style in this movie, and when I found this top in my drawer (from oh circa 2008), I knew I had to pair it with white jeans…

Petals-a-Plenty
Stole my title from the name of this dress… it is aptly named, though, wouldn’t you say? With this heat wave in Boston, the only sensible thing to wear is sandals and an easy summer-dress – I love the pretty print on this one, don’t you?
