Will this illustrious purchase gather dust until next year… or realistically 2016, when it is safe to (I can’t believe I’m even saying this) repeat again? The horror…

1. Cocktail party – Another cocktail party on the horizon? This time, mix your textures – This velvet blazer with a NYE sequined dress adds interest to the outfit. A statement necklace won’t compete with the golden shimmers, but keep the rest of the outfit clean – sheer tights and sleek pumps are the perfect complements.
2. Night out with the girls – Still haven’t tried the dress over pants look? Well now’s your chance… Leather leggings are a chic and warmer alternative to tights. Top it off with a military-inspired parka to help dress-down the sparkle, and add a roomy purse, booties, and a wide-belt to complete this alternative, night-out look.
3. Weekend warrior – My personal favorite. Layering a sweater and scarf over a dress (even one with sequins) is a comfortable but cute winter-weekend look. Pair burgundy stockings with your flat, lace-up booties to take your girly sparkles into boho territory. Funky jewelry completes this chic look.
