Keaton Row and Trendseeder Collab at Minds Matter Charity Event

Last night, some Keaton Row stylists and I attended the Minds Matter charity event hosted at the gorgeous venue Hudson Terrace. We were representing KR and Trendseeder, a start-up company that specializes in selling up-and-coming designers. The other stylists and I served as models for a few of the Trendseeder designer’s Spring fashions!

I was lucky enough to meet the co-founders and creative minds behind the designs that I wore from SPOON fashion: Randi Spoon and Alexis Przybylski Lawton. Thank you, ladies, for letting me borrow your lovely pieces for a night!

Valentine’s Day: What to Wear

Valentine's Day: What to Wear
Whatever the occasion, here are a few V-Day inspired outfits you can wear this week. Personally, I like subtlety on holidays… You won’t find me wearing jeans dotted with a heart print or a pullover with cupid plastered on the front (do they even make this?), so here are some understated ways to incorporate the love this week…
Office: Try going bold with red trousers and a ridiculously-cool tee. Adding a structured blazer pulls the look together. Luxurious touches like a gold cap-toe pump, a rich leather bag, and a menswear-inspired watch keep it classic and elegant.
Ferragamo trousers, DVF blazer, Markus Lupfer tee, Kate Spade pumps (similar), Hermes watch, Madewall bag, and Kelly Wearstler studs
Dinner Date: If you and your someone are going out to eat, opt for a classic black/white dress with just a slight nod to the heart symbol. Add statement earrings and a pop of red with your bag to make the look extra special.
Victoria Beckham dress, Saint Laurent pumps, Prada clutch, Dannijo earrings, Kelly Wearstler ring
Valentine’s Day Brunch: Whether you are hitting a cool brunch spot with your girlfriends or grabbing a bite with your man, a pretty lace pencil skirt gets a cool modern update when paired with a chambray and brogues. Add heart-shaped touches like diamond earrings and a patent pouch to stay on theme.
L.K. Bennet skirt (similar), Madewell chambray, DSW brogues, Michael Kors watch, Coach studs, Mango pouch
Staying In: If you are cooking dinner or lounging for V-day (because you are poor like my man and me), then all you need is just a pop of pink to spice up your usual basics. Add a stack of gold bracelets and trendy loafers to pull this classic look together.
Marc by Marc Jacobs jeans, V-neck blouse, J.Crew loafers, Eberjey bra, Amrita Singh bangles

What is your v-day plan and how will you dress for the occasion? Tell me in the comments!

P.S. Keaton Row is offering Valentine’s Day specials on personal styling, so why wait? Check out my new profile, sign up with me today, and get personal lookbooks and shopping credits! — http://www.keatonrow.com/stylist/hillary

The Classics

The Classics
I apologize for my absence! I’ve been super busy lately with some new projects, particularly styling for Keaton Row. I’ve noticed a trend recently among my clients… they all want classic pieces that they can style in different ways. And I couldn’t agree more! To me, the three most classic pieces worth investing in are a black blazer, a white button-down blouse, and dark denim jeans. Not only do these three items make a complete outfit that is classic and chic, they can be mixed up in infinite ways. Here are just three examples of how to wear your classics in a not-so-average way.

1. The Black Blazer: Layering with a black blazer is the easiest way to make an outfit look more structured, put-together, polished, however you want to say it… A bright-hued, flirty dress is balanced with a sleek black blazer and studded pumps.
Blazer: Theory, Dress: M Missoni, Pumps: Valentino, Clutch: DVF, Earrings: NUR

2. The White Button-Down: A menswear-inspired piece, the white button-down naturally looks great with trousers or jeans, but I also like the wild-card pairing of something feminine and romantic. This look is a modern take on work-wear with a slim-patterned skirt and rich ankle-booties.
Blouse: Equipment, Skirt: Prabal Gurung, Booties: Vince Camuto (only $139!), Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Bracelet: Kazuri

3. The Dark Denim Jean: A dark jean can easily be dressed up or down to fit your style. For a laid-back cool look, layer with a jumper and a scarf. Tasseled loafers and gold jewelry keep the look modern and sophisticated.
Jeans: J Brand, Madame Sweatshirt: Zoe Karssen (absolutely in love), Loafers: Madison Harding, Bag: Cambridge Satchel Co., Scarf: Tory Burch, Watch: Kate Spade, Leather wrap bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs

4 Ways to Holiday Chic

Holiday Chic

Fashionable friends, I wanted to share with you the basic formulas I implement when dressing for the holidays. Here are 4 outfits that I will be wearing this season:

1. Family Holiday Party: Black jeans + Fun blouse + Lace-up Booties + Simple gold jewelry
–Family parties usually involve lots of food, drinks, and catching-up so comfort is essential. For this look, I chose James Jeans black skinnies, a fun blouse from Modcloth, on-trend Bakers lace-up booties, a KJL black cocktail ring, and gold bangles.
2. Christmas Eve: LBD + Amazing coat + Festive heels
–Christmas Eve is typically spent having cocktails with family friends and/or going to church (er, maybe not in that order…) Since this is the only time during the entire year that I hit up church, I try my best to impress the big man upstairs. A no-fail LBD, like this one from Karen Millen, is the perfect thing. Add festive pumps (Charlotte Olympia), opaque tights, a metallic belt, and drop earrings to finish the look. Top it off with a fancy coat (Dolce and Gabbana), and you have a classic, chic look.
3. Christmas Day: Leggings + Slouchy Sweater + Pashmina + Loafers
I’m not planning on leaving my couch on Christmas Day, but since there will probably be guests at my parent’s house I will reluctantly change out of my pajamas. An equally comfortable and infinitely chicer option are these tweed Stella McCartney leggings with a slouchy black sweater. Add a printed scarf, like this Rag & Bone beauty, and studded loafers to bring the look up a couple notches.
4. New Year’s Eve: Metallic-y Dress + Pumps + Unexpected Accessories
–I’m not really a sequin person, so this subtly metallic dress from AllSaints is a perfect NYE option for me. It is feminine but structured, and is it obvious that I am completely in love with it? Unexpected accessories like a leopard belt and a cranberry clutch keep the look youthful and cool. Add a little extra shine with these gold pumps, and you are ready to ring in the New Year in style.
