Fun with Warby Parker – The At Home Try-On

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the amazingly affordable and insanely chic eyewear brand Warby Parker, here is a rundown of what they do…
Warby Parker logo

A collaboration between four close friends, Warby Parker was conceived as an alternative to the overpriced and bland eyewear available today. Prescription eyewear simply should not cost $300+. The industry is controlled by a few large companies that have kept prices artificially high, reaping huge profits from consumers who have no other options. By circumventing traditional channels and engaging with customers directly through our website, Warby Parker is able to provide higher-quality, better-looking prescription eyewear at a fraction of the price. In addition, for every pair of eyeglasses or sunglasses purchased, we provide a pair to someone in need. (text courtesy of Warby Parker)

So basically, what’s not to love? Oh wait, and did I mention they offer free at-home try-on? Here are the five frames I played around with at home… which is your favorite on me? Weigh in, in the comments!

One Skirt: From The Office to Happy Hour

Office --> Happy Hour
One of the challenges women face in the corporate world is how to take their daytime office look in to the evening, without packing a completely new outfit. I’d love to take on this challenge and start a series of how-tos, taking one piece and translating it from office to evening. I’ve started with this gorgeous Prabal Gurung lace pencil skirt. For day, I paired it with a clean, silk blouse and a matching blazer. Keep the accessories minimal: a stack of bracelets, funky specs, and a nude pump (with a little bling!). To change for cocktails, switch out the blouse for a soft tank. Add killer heels, cool jewelry, and amp up your makeup a little. What do you think? How would you wear this skirt for the day or night? Tell me in the comments!
