I couldn’t wait any longer to break out this amazing, floral See by Chloe jacket that’s been hanging in my closet for months! I love the unexpected combination of a sporty parka with a pretty floral print, and since I don’t typically dress super feminine, this is a perfect piece for me to incorporate florals into my Spring wardrobe without feeling too girly. I can’t wait for it to be warm enough to have this jacket in my regular rotation!

Wearing – James Jeans, Top via Urban Outfitters (lusting over this one), See by Chloe jacket (similar), Steve Madden booties (old), Rebecca Minkoff bag (last seen here), vintage belt, Ray Ban sunnies, J.Crew bracelets, vintage and Gorjana rings (here and here), Anthropologie earrings

Currently Craving: Metallics

Currently Craving: Metallics
The evolution of metallics from just a pocket watch or a bauble around a woman’s neck to ready-to-wear pieces (Celine, Burberry, Matthew Williamson, DVF) is a truly beautiful thing. Lately I have been particularly drawn to metallic footwear, in all shapes and styles with a gold, silver, rose gold, copper or bronze glimmer. Here is a round-up of some of my favorites right now… enjoy!
1. Rebecca Minkoff 2. Dolce Vita (under $100!) 3. Jimmy Choo 4. Rebecca Minkoff 5. Tory Burch 6. Kate Spade 7. Cole Haan (love citrus laces!) 8. Coach 9. Rag & Bone 10. BCBG ($50!) 11. Michael Kors

Wear Now, Wear Later: The Denim Jacket

Wear Now, Wear Later: The Denim Jacket
I don’t know about you, but I am SO ready to pack away my heavy sweaters, puffy coats, and tights (aka the devil’s fashion contribution). Since that is clearly not an option for me or anyone living in the Northeast (Hello, winter storm Nemo), I’ve decided to start a new segment on how to wear “traditional” Spring pieces now and later. I started with the classic denim jacket. I showed you one way to use the denim jacket as a layering piece already (here), but this is another option. The best way to get extra use out of lighter pieces, like a denim jacket or a floral dress or a crop-top, is to layer, layer, layer. What do you think?
Look 1: J.Crew denim jacket, Stella McCartney trousers, J.Crew blouse, Isabel Marant swater, Corso Como pumps, Zara tote, Kate Spade watch, Asos bracelet
Look 2: J. Crew denim jacket, Diane von Furstenberg dress, Rebecca Minkoff oxfords, Madewell tote, Chan Luu wrap bracelet, Kate Spade earrings, Illesteva sunnies
P.S. Good luck with the storm and have a great weekend!

Just nerding it up with my glasses and sweater/collared shirt combo. Lydia called it “nerdy chic,” and I will accept that as a compliment. I hope you all had a nice weekend!

Sweater Weather

Wearing – Sweater: DKNY via Marshalls (love this version too), Jeans: Elizabeth & James (similar), Shoes: Nine West (really old), Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (similar)

Bracelets: gifted and vintage, Ring: Alexander McQueen, Watch: Michael Kors

Weekends in the Fall are my all-time favorite. The weather is crisp, the air has a unique aroma (maybe not so much in NYC, but any New Englander knows what I mean), and the ambience is very relaxed and content. And, I for one, am a huge fan of early Fall fashion, the time right before any serious layering is required. In particular, I love sweaters. I may or may not have three or five identical sweaters to this one that I wear with jeans, over dresses, with maxi skirts, or with leggings on any given Fall weekend.  They are the perfect combination of cozy and classic.

Football Sunday

Wearing – Jeans: J.Crew (old, similar here), Sweater: Isaac Mizrahi for Target (old), Booties: c/o Steve Madden, Scarf: vintage, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (last seen here)

Sundays in the Fall are for being cozy and watching football, so I put my dirty hair up and threw on wide-leg jeans and a classic black sweater. Camel ankle booties and my favorite silk scarf polished the look off. There’s nothing better than jeans and sweater weather! What do you think? What is your go-to Fall look?

Fall Florals

Dress: Newburyport shop, Denim Jacket: Boston Proper (similar), Belt: vintage, Shoes: Jessica Simpson (old, but love this version), Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (love this one too), Earrings: Anthropologie, Bracelets: gifted and vintage

Fall is my favorite season in New England York (I will always be a New Englander at heart…) The weather was beautiful on this day, and we enjoyed it at an outdoor brunch spot in SoHo. I wore one of my favorite floral numbers with OXBLOOD booties and a classic denim jacket. Hope you all had a nice weekend!

No Fuss, No Frills

Dress: Cynthia Rowley (similar), Shoes: COACH (old, similar), Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (also love this one), Watch: Michael Kors, Bangle: old, totally coveting this one, Ring: Allison Moses

I wore this easy, black midi-dress this weekend for brunch and some errands… I love a dress like this for summer, because you can change it up in so many ways. This time I styled it with a touch of tribal. For Fall, I can layer with a sweater and some brogues! Hope you all had a wonderful, long weekend!

City Stroll

Wearing – Dress: Anthropologie (old), Belt: vintage (similar), Shoes: Boutique 9 (old), Shades: Ralph Lauren (similar), Earrings: Anthropologie, Watch: Michael Kors (similar Rosegold), Bracelets: Off-Fifth, vintage, Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (similar)

Anddddd, the real me comes out… She’s unstoppable sometimes…

These shots are from last weekend… We had brunch, then strolled around the park for a little. Any suggestions for a good brunch spot in or around the East Village? Tell me in the comments! Happy Friday 🙂

Currently Craving: Sunshine, Daisies, Butter Mellow…

I’ve been crushing on the color yellow recently… I literally own nothing yellow excluding perhaps a pair of sandals. It isn’t a terribly flattering color on me, unless I have a sweet tan. (Which I’ve recently lost since starting my “big girl” life). But there are so many different shades that at least one is bound to work for everybody, so here are some of my favorite picks:

Derek Lam maxi skirt, bold yellow nail polish, Emilio de la Morena silk shirtdress, French Connection shorts, Bauble Bar necklace, Rebecca Minkoff top

P.S. if you don’t know where the title came from, get with it… If you do, nerds unite!
