Fun with Warby Parker – The At Home Try-On

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the amazingly affordable and insanely chic eyewear brand Warby Parker, here is a rundown of what they do…
Warby Parker logo

A collaboration between four close friends, Warby Parker was conceived as an alternative to the overpriced and bland eyewear available today. Prescription eyewear simply should not cost $300+. The industry is controlled by a few large companies that have kept prices artificially high, reaping huge profits from consumers who have no other options. By circumventing traditional channels and engaging with customers directly through our website, Warby Parker is able to provide higher-quality, better-looking prescription eyewear at a fraction of the price. In addition, for every pair of eyeglasses or sunglasses purchased, we provide a pair to someone in need. (text courtesy of Warby Parker)

So basically, what’s not to love? Oh wait, and did I mention they offer free at-home try-on? Here are the five frames I played around with at home… which is your favorite on me? Weigh in, in the comments!

Begley, Warby Parker, Home Try-On

Suit Up Ladies

I think one of the sexiest things a woman can wear is a suit – when I see a perfectly cut suit with an androgynous vibe and covered-up sex appeal… I die. I am particularly swooning over short-suits for Spring (a trend that is still in motion from last year), which can easily be dressed up or down (note street style with Converse below). Plus, I love the various colors, prints, and textures that make an updated, modern suit for women… Scroll through this post for a little suit-inspiration for Spring:

Currently Craving: Metallics

Currently Craving: Metallics
The evolution of metallics from just a pocket watch or a bauble around a woman’s neck to ready-to-wear pieces (Celine, Burberry, Matthew Williamson, DVF) is a truly beautiful thing. Lately I have been particularly drawn to metallic footwear, in all shapes and styles with a gold, silver, rose gold, copper or bronze glimmer. Here is a round-up of some of my favorites right now… enjoy!
1. Rebecca Minkoff 2. Dolce Vita (under $100!) 3. Jimmy Choo 4. Rebecca Minkoff 5. Tory Burch 6. Kate Spade 7. Cole Haan (love citrus laces!) 8. Coach 9. Rag & Bone 10. BCBG ($50!) 11. Michael Kors

Currently Craving: Gloves

Gloves and mittens are a tricky accessory – I used to maintain the belief that they were merely a hindrance, a superfluous addition that served virtually the same purpose as pockets (which I am able to insert and remove my hand from with ease when I need to). On the other hand (har har), I feel I am missing a shopping, er fashion, opportunity… Well, that and how amazing are leather gloves for clapping at a hockey game? Thus, here is a round-up of some mittens and gloves that I am just dying to get my hands on in…

Currently Graving: Gloves
Clockwise from top (Tan Leather): Mulberry, Miu Miu, French Connection, Causse Gantier, Tory Burch, Rag & Bone, Cole Haan, Bruno Cucinelli, Vivienne Westwood, Lanvin, Burberry, Coach, and Asos (the Must-Have)
P.S. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Currently Craving: Spring Fever

The temps rose dramatically in NYC the past couple of days… a brief tantalizing whiff of Spring, before January remembers her place on the Northeast climate spectrum. Tempted by the weather (or so I’m justifying it to myself), I added a couple Springtime pieces to my closet that I’m so eager to wear! Here are some newbies, plus some coveted items for Spring and where to get them:
